Transport groups flocked to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) office in Quezon City on Monday, March 24, in support of the Public Transport Modernization Program (PTMP).
“Kami ay andito ngayon kasama ko ang ALTODAP, Acto, Busina upang iparating sa ating pamahalaan na kaming sumusuporta sa PTMP ay patuloy na mag seserbisyo sa ating mamamayan (We are here today with ALTODAP, ACTO, Busina to express our support for the PTMP and that we will continue to serve the people),” Pasang Masda President Obet Martin said.
We who have placed our stake on this will not stop, and if it is said that PTMP has problems, these should be solved. It is not a solution to stop a good program of our government that provides good services to our people),” he added.
Transport groups brought their modernized vehicles to the LTFRB office to support PTMP.
Pasang Masda, Alliance of Transport Operators' & Drivers’ Association of the Philippines (ALTODAP), Busina, and Alliance of Concerned Transport Organization (ACTO) will not join the transport strike.
LTFRB Chairman Teofilo Guadiz III, thanked the transport groups for supporting the PTMP.
You can see now that the vehicles here have been modernized...this is the effect of modernization) ,” Guadiz III said.
This is what we have been working on for several years now. These people that you see next to me, they are the ones who embraced the government's program and will not allow it to be suspended or stopped because it is for the good of the people),” he added.
