The Manila local government deployed vehicles to assist commuters during the transport strike on Monday, March 24.

In response to the strike, which was declared by the transport group MANIBELA, the city government provided at least five mobile patrol vehicles from the Manila Police District (MPD) and three trucks from the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) to serve as "libreng sakay" (free rides) for affected passengers.

The initiative aimed to ease the burden on commuters who were left without regular public transportation due to the ongoing strike.

As of this writing, Manila authorities have stated that the strike has not yet had a significant impact on the city’s transportation system.
