EPD sets up all-female police checkpoint in Pasig City

The Eastern Police District (EPD) recently set up an all-female checkpoint in Pasig City to promote gender equality among its personnel and further increase police visibility in the area, EPD director Col. Villamor Tuliao said.


"In line with the celebration of the 2025 National Women's Month with the theme: "Babae sa lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas," the EPD established an all-female Commission on Elections (Comelec) checkpoint on Urbano Velasco Avenue in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City," Tuliao said.

The checkpoint has two schedules: 3 a.m. to 4 a.m. and 10 p.m. to 11 p.m.


"The All-Female Checkpoint is one way of recognizing the role of women in law enforcement operation which plays a vital role in contributing and improving community relations for public safety and security. The presence of female officers in handling police operation like checkpoint can foster stronger relationships with the communities, leading to increased trust and cooperation," Tuliao said.


"Thus, this initiative is a testament that women are stronger, resilient, and flexible when it comes to being excellent, professional, and disciplined at work and in other aspects," he added.

Tuliao said the all-female checkpoint displays good leadership, dedication and commitment for not minding the risk of danger the officers are facing. It also shows their strong will to serve and protect the public.


"Kudos to all the women of our nation. And salute to the all the Juanas of the PNP. You proved that gender is not a hindrance to serve but a commitment to strive further towards the common goal of peace and order in  our society." Tuliao said.
