Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial candidate Las Piñas City lone district Rep. Camille Villar has underscored the importance of cooperatives' role in uplifting the lives of people in communities.

Villar did so during her campaign sortie Sunday, March 24, in Polilio, Quezon province.

A millenial candidate, the lady solon vowed to continue working on projects and legislation that will generate jobs, and livelihood in the communities.

“Noong pa man, isinusulong ko na---mga batas na magtataguyod kabuhayan, magbibigay ng trabaho, magpapaabot ng pangarap na bahay para sa mga Filipino. Ipagpapatuloy ko po yan,” she said during the general assembly of the RHUDARDA Multi-Purpose Cooperative General Assembly in Polilio.

(Even then, I've been pursuing laws that would improve livelihood, generate jobs, and help Filipinos achieve their dream home. And I will continue to do so.)

During her speech, the administration bet cited the huge contribution of cooperatives in uplifting the economy, and in community development.

“Malaki ang kontribusyon ninyo sa economic empowerment at community development at talagang hindi matatawaran ang epekto nito sa buhay ng ating mga kababayan sa kanilang mga komunidad," Villar said.

(You have a very huge contribution to the economic empowerment and community development, we cannot understate the effect that these have on our countrymen and their communities.)

"Salamat po at kayo'y mga tunay na partners in progress at malaki ang kontribusyon ninyo sa pag-unlad ng buhay ng ating mga kababayan (Thank you for being real partners in progeess, for your huge contributions to making our countrymen's lives better),” she said.

The RHUDARDA Multi-Purpose Cooperative, led by its president Emely Azul, was recognized as the Most Outstanding Community Enterprise in the 2024 Villar SIPAG Awards.  

Villar also thanked Mayor Angelique Bosque and local officials for their warm welcome during her visit to the province.
