Wanted man shot dead in police operation

CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – A man wanted for murder was gunned down in a police operation on Saturday morning, March 22, in Purok 4, Sitio Salagubang, Barangay Palingon, this city.

The Calamba City police identified the suspect as Mark Lee, 30, single.

Lawmen were implementing a warrant of arrest against Lee issued by two Calamba City courts when his live-in partner Rowena Manila, 33, intervened.

The suspect fired and hurled a fragmentation grenade towards lawmen that failed to detonate. 

Police retaliated and killed the suspect.

Manila was arrested for obstruction of justice and direct assault.

Recovered from the suspect were a gun, spent bullet shells, and the grenade.
