
A man was arrested for illegal possession of an unlicensed firearm as part of the Pasay City Police's campaign supporting the Commission on Elections (Comelec) gun ban to ensure a peaceful and orderly electoral process.
Pasay City Police Chief Col. Joselito De Sesto identified the suspect as alias “Jun Jun,” 44, who was arrested in Barangay 127 on Friday, March 21.
De Sesto said members of the Pasay City Police Central Park Substation 4 served a search warrant against Jun Jun, issued by Judge Edilwasif T. Baddiri of Pasay City Regional Trial Court Branch 115, on March 14.
Police confiscated a .45 caliber pistol, one magazine, and two rounds of live ammunition from the suspect.
Jun Jun was detained at the Pasay City Police custodial facility and charged with violating Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and Republic Act 7166 (Omnibus Election Code).
