The British Chamber of Commerce Philippines, under its Trade & Connect series, will be hosting the event titled, “Building Cyber Trust: Cybersecurity and Innovation for a Resilient Future,” on 25 March 2025 at 4:00 PM via Zoom. This event will bring together government officials, industry leaders, and cybersecurity experts to discuss how cybersecurity directly affects economic growth and the ease of doing business in the Philippines.
This event will include a keynote session discussing how cybersecurity influences the investment landscape, highlighting the importance of secure and dependable digital infrastructure for economic growth. The country’s rise to 53rd place in the United Nations Global Cybersecurity Index (UN GCI) reflects the Philippines’ progress in enhancing digital defenses. However, the growing threat of cyberattacks called for an increasing urgency for stronger policies, greater public-private collaboration, and more investment in cybersecurity infrastructure.
The British Chamber, previously supported cybersecurity-related laws such as the Anti-Financial Account Scamming Act, and continues to advocate for the passage of the Cybersecurity Ac. BCCP Executive Chairman, Chris Nelson stated that, “Cybersecurity is going to be increasingly needed by everybody.” Adding that, “The UK has skills, one of our key members is CyberQ, they work extensively in the Philippines and we see this as a growing segment.”
The event will feature speakers including CyberQ Group Chief Executive Officer, APAC Roberto Tayag, who will tackle cloud security and the risks associated with rapid digitalization, while Paul Jackson, Chief Executive Officer of THEOS Cyber, will join in a panel discussion on how businesses and government agencies can work together to strengthen the Philippines’ cybersecurity posture.
Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with experts and contribute to discussions on the future of cybersecurity, policies, and public-private partnerships.
