BACOLOD CITY – One-thousand, thirty-five personnel were deployed to secure this year’s Panaad sa Negros Festival here from March 24 to 30.

Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson and Police Col. Rainerio de Chavez, Negros Occidental police director, led the send-off ceremony at the Panaad Park and Stadium here on Saturday, March 22.
The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office tapped the Bacolod City Police Office, Highway Patrol Group, Philippine Coast Guard, the Bureau of Fire Protection, and medical units to ensure peace and order in the week-long event.
Police Capt. Judesses Catalogo, spokesperson of the Negros Occidental police, said that 200 emergency response personnel from different local government units were deployed.
Catalogo said that policemen have been deployed to the festival site since Sunday, March 23, a day before the official opening of the festivity which is now on its 29th year.
Lacson said that it is imperative to prioritize safety to enhance the integrity of the festival.
“We want all our festival-goers to not only feel secure but also to truly enjoy the festivities we have prepared,” he added.
