Gang member caught assembling pen gun in Manila

A man was caught assembling an improvised firearm along Nieto Street in Paco, Manila, on Saturday, March 21.

The Manila Police District (MPD) identified the suspect as John Rixie Maage, 25, a member of Sputnik Gang.

According to the police report, the officers were patrolling along Syson Street when they were approached by a male concerned citizen and informed them that a man was assembling an improvised firearm along Nieto Street.

The concerned citizen also informed them that the suspect was wearing red short, white t-shirt, and orange sleeves with visible tattoos on his arm.

The arresting police officers proceeded to the alluded place and saw the person with the same description given by the concerned citizen.

They cautiously approached the suspect and saw the latter in possession of improvised firearm; hence they arrested the suspect.

Police confiscated a unit of improvised firearm or pen gun from the possession of the suspect.

The suspect will face charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 or Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act and B.P. 881 (Omnibus Election Code of the Philipipines).
