Brawner hails future leaders of AFP

Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief, General Romeo Brawner Jr. applauded 188 up-and-coming leaders of the military during the graduation ceremony of the Command and General Staff Course (CGSC) Class 75 at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City on Friday, March 21.

Brawner, who served as the guest of honor and speaker during the event, emphasized the critical role of the CGSC in shaping the AFP's future leadership.

“You are preparing to shape the future of the AFP and contribute to the future of our nation,” he said.

The military chief also underscored the importance of the continuous development of new officers and the commitment required of them to excel in leadership roles within the AFP.

The CGSC is an annual program of the AFP Command and General Staff College (AFPCGSC) that has a nine-month training duration.

The course is the highest military education given to a career officer in the AFP. It focuses on leadership, staff management, and joint and combined planning and operations which is also offered to AFP Reserve Officers and International Military Students (IMS).

“The CGSC is a program designed to equip AFP officers with the tools necessary to take on key command and staff positions within the military, preparing them to effectively lead and serve the nation in the years to come,” AFP public affairs office chief Col. Xerxes Trinidad said.

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of awards to the top-performing graduates, honoring their outstanding achievements in various areas of the program.

“This recognition reinforces their readiness to take on higher responsibilities in the AFP, upholding the highest standards of excellence and integrity in service,” Trinidad noted.
