150 inmates in Caloocan jail receive medical services

A total of 150 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) in the Caloocan City Jail has received free medical services conducted by the City Health Department (CHD) and the Caloocan City Medical Center (CCMC), the city government announced on Saturday, March 22.

The city’s Public Information Office (PIO) said that beneficiaries received services including free consultations, free medicines, free dental services and dermatological health services to ensure the well-being of the PDLs.

Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan expressed his gratitude to jail personnel and to the health workers who participated in their initiative.

“Lubos tayong nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng mga tumutulong sa ating pamahalaang lungsod na bigyan ng kalinga ang ating mga PDL. Batid po natin na kasalukuyan man po silang naka-detain ngayon dahil sa kanilang mga kinakaharap, pinahahalagahan pa rin po natin ang kanilang mga karapatan at kalusugan bilang mga mamamayan (We are deeply grateful to everyone who supports our city government in providing care for our Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL). While we acknowledge that they are currently detained due to the challenges they face, we still uphold their rights and well-being as citizens),” he said.

He highlighted the city’s commitment to equal care for all citizens, with a particular focus on vulnerable sectors.

“Pantay-pantay na pangangalaga po para sa ating mga mamamayan ang lagi nating tinitignan, ngunit tinitiyak din natin ang kapakanan at kalusugan ng mga nasa vulnerable sectors ang mas nabibigyan natin ng prayoridad matugunan ang kanilang mga pangangailangan (We always strive for equal care for all our citizens, but we also ensure that the welfare and health of vulnerable sectors are prioritized to address their needs),” Malapitan added.

The mayor also emphasized that no one in Caloocan will be left behind, especially in terms of health services.

“Walang Batang Kankaloo ang maiiwanan ng ating mga proyekto, lalo na pagdating sa mga serbisyong pangkalusugan (No Batang Kankaloo will be left behind in our projects, especially when it comes to health services),” he said.
