The long and fruitful relationship between Korean actor and idol Lee Jun-ho, star of the drama “King the Land,” and his agency, JYP Entertainment, is coming to an end after 17 years.
Lee Jun-ho, 35, debuted as a member of K-pop boy band 2PM in 2008 under JYP Entertainment. He has branched into acting.
JYP Entertainment announced that Jun-ho’s exclusive contract with JYP Entertainment will end on April 15 and it was decided not to renew it.
“We would like to inform you that the exclusive contract between JYP Entertainment and artist Lee Junho will end on April 15th. After a long and deep discussion, we and the artist have decided not to renew the contract,” the agency said.

It added, “Since debuting as a member of the group 2PM in 2008, Lee Junho has been doing his best in each field as a singer and actor. Based on our deep trust in each other, we have renewed our contracts with the company several times and have been together through the shining seasons of the artist.”
“We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Lee Junho for accompanying us on our company’s growth and journey for 17 years. Above all, we would like to express our gratitude to the fans who have responded to Lee Junho’s efforts with endless love and support,” the agency said.
Jun-ho thanked JYP for its support.
“I sincerely thank you for your unsparing support over the past 17 years. I will cherish the relationship we have built over the long time we have been together and the value of the support you have given me and move forward,” he said.
JYP Entertainment said while the contract ends, “JYP Entertainment will always support Junho Lee's new challenges and brilliant career. We also plan to continue to be in charge of Junho Lee's activities in Japan, and we will actively support any work that requires collaboration in the future.”
