She emphasized the crucial role of women in strengthening the Philippine economy and vowed to push for more policies that uplift their rights and create greater opportunities for them in society.

In celebration of Women’s Month, Villar also honored her grandmother, Nanay Curing, the mother of former Senate President Manny Villar, who hailed from Orani, Bataan. She highlighted the invaluable contributions of women in both the household and the workforce, recognizing their multiple responsibilities.

She reiterated her dedication to prioritizing women’s welfare, both in legislation and in government programs.

During her tenure as Las Piñas representative, Villar championed key laws such as the Pregnant Women Welfare Act and the Equal Maternity Protection Act, which provide benefits to pregnant women, particularly those in the informal sector. She also pushed for legislation granting free medical and hospitalization benefits to indigent women.

As part of her advocacy for maternal and reproductive health, Villar has distributed maternity kits to women in low-income households. She also initiated programs like Nanay Fair in Las Piñas, which offers livelihood training, financial coaching, and seminars to empower mothers in various barangays.

With her strong track record of championing women’s rights and welfare, Villar continues to push for policies that enhance the role of women in nation-building, ensuring that they have the resources and opportunities needed to thrive.
