BACOLOD CITY – Two out of the six foreign hikers were rescued on Friday morning, March 21, two days after they were reported missing in their hiking trail in Valencia, Negros Oriental on Wednesday morning, March 19.

Police Lt. Stephen Polinar, spokesperson of the Negros Oriental police, identified the rescued hikers as 58-year-old Torsten Martin Groschupp and 63-year-old Alexander Radvanyi, British national.
Polinar said they were rescued at around 10 a.m. in a forested area of Sitio Ginsayaw, Barangay Malabo, Valencia, adjacent to Sitio Lunas, Valencia, where they set out for a trek at 8 a.m. on Wednesday.
The rescued hikers were brought to the Incident Command Post for medical examination. No further details have been provided as of posting time.
Polinar said that the hikers might have lost their way and separated.
Search and rescue operations are ongoing to locate their companions who were reported stranded in their hiking trail to Twin Lakes in Sibulan, Negros Oriental.
