Police said a video of the shooting incident will greatly help in arresting the two gunmen.

“We are confident the two suspects will be caught,” said Police Capt. Renzo Martinez, chief of the Balasan Municipal Police Station.

The suspects attacked the victims in a sari-sari or community convenience store in Barangay Poblacion Sur on Thursday evening, March 20.

The video that went viral showed victims Kizza and JJ talking and drinking in a table and later on running for safety when a man carrying a knife approached the store and another man with a handgun shooting then fleeing the crime scene.

The victims who are both 23-years-old sustained injuries and taken to the hospital and were able to identify the suspects.

The suspect with the gun was identified as Ronnie and the suspect with the knife was alias Bulldog.

Martinez said on Friday, March 21, that the suspects may have attacked Kizza and JJ due to an old grudge.

He said that they are beefing up their presence in the municipality to maintain peace and implement the election gun ban.
