Slovakian tourist in Boracay sexually assaulted – police

ILOILO CITY – Police confirmed that the Slovakian tourist who was found dead at world-famous Boracay Island in Malay town, Aklan province was sexually assaulted.

“The medico-legal results found forced penetration in the genital area (of the victim). She was sexually abused,” said Police Capt. Aubrey Ayon, spokesperson of the Special Investigation Task Group (SITG).

The SITG led by Police Col. Arnel Ramos of the Aklan Police Provincial Office (APPO) finally received the autopsy results for Michaela Mickova.

“The cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head,” Ayon said in a phone interview on Thursday, March 20.

The SITG said the victim was not stabbed. “There was no stab wound as indicated by the autopsy report,” Ayon added.

Police are looking into the information given by a man who was arrested for selling illegal drugs last March 14, two days after the discovery of Mickova’s body in an abandoned chapel.

Ayon said that the man is not a suspect but a person of interest.

The man, who was initially charged for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, issued a voluntary affidavit.

He claimed he knows two people allegedly behind the sexual assault and eventual killing of the Slovakian.

Ayon said they are looking for the alleged two perpetrators.

Police Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky of the Police Regional Office-6 is optimistic the SITG will soon be able to apprehend the perpetrators.
