Philippine Ambassador Jaime FlorCruz made the call during an engagement with overseas Filipinos in the port city, encouraging them to actively exercise their rights to suffrage and perform their obligations to wisely choose the next batch of national leaders.

In his speech, FlorCruz reiterated the commitment of the Philippine Embassy in Beijing and Macau to ensuring the protection of the overseas Filipino workers' (OFWs) rights, welfare, and well-being.

The ambassador also noted that the embassy and the Philippine Consulate General are continuously working to provide assistance and support to the Filipino community, whether it is through legal aid, welfare programs, or reintegration initiatives.

During the event, the ambassador had the opportunity to explore "Pinoy Street," a site of thriving Filipino businesses in Macau.

FlorCruz also held a presentation of 'My China Journey in 30 Objects', narrating his decades-long experience of living, studying, and working in China.

The event was co-organized by Macau Philippine Consulate and the University of St. Joseph, the only private Catholic University in Macau.

The event welcomed students and professors of the university, both Filipinos and foreigners, as well as members of the Consular Corps in Macau SAR and representatives from the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in Macau Special Administrative Region.

FlorCruz's visit to Macau is part of the year-long commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Philippines-China diplomatic relations.

The Philippine envoy was recently in the Special Administrative Region for a three-day visit, and participated in a townhall meeting recently organized by the Philippine Consulate General in Macau.

It was attended by around 250 Filipinos living and working in Macau.
