Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said this after the Commission on Elections (Comelec) reported a decline in election-related threats across the country.

In her press briefing on Thursday, March 20, the Palace Press Officer emphasized the importance of maintaining decorum and avoiding inflammatory rhetoric during political activities.

"Ang nais lamang po natin ay maging mahinahon sa kanilang pangangampanya, maging maayos, maging makatotohanang sa kanilang mga sasabihin (We want them to be calm in their campaigning, to be orderly, and to be truthful in their statements)," she said.

"Huwag po sana silang magsagawa ng anumang pananalita na magki-create pa ng kaguluhan (They should avoid making any remarks that could create disorder)," she added.

According to Castro, Comelec's report reflects the government's commitment to working with various agencies to ensure secure and credible elections.

She likewise reaffirmed the government's dedication to maintaining peace and order during the electoral process.

"Iyan din po ang ninanais ng administrasyon, ang makipagtulungan tayo sa lahat ng ahensiya para po magkaroon po tayo especially sa eleksiyon at maging credible po ang mangyayaring eleksiyon sa susunod na May 2025 (That is also what the administration wants, for us to work together with all agencies so that we can ensure credible elections in May 2025)," she said.

Local campaigns will start on March 28 until May 10, two days before the election day on May 12.
