Reelectionist Senators Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. and Francis “Tol” Tolentino, along with former Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson will lead the administration-backed Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial slate in scheduled campaign rally in vote-rich Cavite on Friday, March 21.
With 2,447,362 registered voters, Cavite has long been a decisive battleground in national elections, making it a critical stop for the administration coalition’s campaign.
Revilla, Tolentino, and Lacson are all proud sons of Cavite, hailing from Bacoor, Tagaytay, and Imus, respectively.
The deep roots and extensive public service experience of Caviteño "big three" senatorial candidates are expected to boost Alyansa’s support base ahead of the May 12 mid-term elections.
The Alyansa ticket also includes former Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) secretary Benhur Abalos, Makati City Mayor Abby Binay, Senator Pia Cayetano, Senator Lito Lapid, Senator Imee Marcos, former Senator Manny Pacquiao, former Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, ACT-CIS Rep. Erwin Tulfo, and Deputy Speaker Las Piñas City lone district Rep. Camille Villar.
Navotas City lone district Rep. Toby Tiangco, Alyansa’s campaign manager, emphasized the importance of securing Cavite’s support, as he recognized the province as a key driver of electoral success.
“Cavite has always been a decisive force in national elections, and Alyansa is coming in strong with a line-up that understands the pulse of the people,” Tiangco said.
“We have leaders who have proven their ability to deliver results, and we are confident that Caviteños will rally behind us,” he added.
Cavite has consistently played a pivotal role in shaping national election results. In the 2022 presidential polls, President Marcos secured a commanding 1,121,108 votes in the province.
Marcos’ landslide victory in Cavite, combined with the province’s high 81.30 percent voter turnout, reinforced its status as a bellwether for national sentiment.
Marcos is the top endorser of Alyansa, which is Filipino for "alliance".
Alyansa is set to rally thousands of supporters from Cavite’s eight component cities and 15 municipalities, as it reinforces its commitment to good governance, national unity and inclusive progress.
The administration slate is banking on the province’s historical role as a political stronghold to further cement its momentum in the 2025 Senate race.
