MB columnist Lamentillo included in One Young World's List of Young Leaders Changing the World

Anna Mae Yu Lamentillo, founder of NightOwlGPT, has been spotlighted among five One Young World global ambassadors for her groundbreaking efforts in harnessing artificial intelligence (AI) to preserve endangered languages and bridge digital divides.

NightOwlGPT, her innovative AI-powered platform, focuses on creating a NLP model specific for low resource languages with complex morphologies. With over two million words translated, the platform not only preserves linguistic heritage but also fosters greater cultural understanding through education.

NightOwlGPT stands out by addressing a critical global issue: 44% of the world’s languages are at risk of extinction, threatening the cultural identity and communication abilities of millions worldwide. By leveraging cutting-edge AI technology, Anna Mae ensures these languages remain vibrant and accessible, offering marginalized communities vital tools for digital inclusion and cultural preservation. The platform is set to expand to Ghana, Pakistan, and Colombia within the next five years, significantly broadening its impact on global linguistic preservation.

Alongside Anna Mae, four other remarkable ambassadors were recognized for their transformative use of AI for social good:
* Isabel Pulido, President and Founder of NanoFreeze, revolutionizing refrigeration technology to reduce greenhouse emissions.
* Jose Zea, CEO and Co-Founder of Arkangel AI, significantly improving healthcare diagnostics globally.
* Gitanjali Rao, Inventor and Student, creating innovative solutions against cyberbullying and environmental contamination.
* Arhum Ishtiaq, Co-Founder of ConnectHear, enhancing accessibility and independence for the hearing impaired through AI-driven interpretation services.

Anna Mae's visionary work has been internationally recognized. Last February 18, Lamentillo was awarded the She Shapes AI Award for AI and Learning at the University College of London in Canary Wharf.
