Man arrested in Tondo for raping live-in partner's daughter

A 58-year-old man has been arrested for alleged rape of his live-in partner's daughter, a crime that reportedly occurred in 2013 when the victim was just 14 years old.

According to the Manila Police District, the victim came forward to report the incident after seeking assistance from her aunt in 2015.

Police said that despite her efforts to file a case, the suspect managed to evade arrest for nearly a decade.

Authorities confirmed that the man had been hiding until his recent arrest on Friday, Feb. 28.

The victim revealed that her mother continued her relationship with the suspect for years, only breaking up in 2023.

The police are continuing their investigation into the case, emphasizing the importance of supporting victims of sexual violence.
