The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), a trailblazer in sustainable banking, has proudly become the only bank participant and leading financial institution in the United Nations Global Compact Network Philippines (UN GCNP), the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. This milestone highlights BPI’s commitment to universal sustainability principles and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

As a member of the UN GCNP, BPI will further strengthen its commitment to uphold the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, covering critical areas such as human rights, labor, environmental sustainability, and anti-corruption. These principles have been deeply integrated into BPI’s business strategy, corporate culture, and operations. BPI will also further expand collaboration on projects and initiatives that support and promote the UN SDGs, further reinforcing its role as a responsible corporate citizen.

“At BPI, we are driven by our belief that sustainable practices must be embedded in every facet of our society,” said Eric Luchangco, BPI’s Chief Sustainability Officer.

“Joining the UN Global Compact Network Philippines not only strengthens our commitment to global sustainability standards but also amplifies our ability to help Filipinos embrace more sustainable practices.
