TACLOBAN CITY – A 13-year-old girl was raped and killed in Baybay City, Leyte on March 17.
The victim was found dead in a chapel in Barangay Hipusngo.
She was reported missing on March 16.
Police apprehended a suspect in the crime, a 37-year-old electrician and resident of Barangay Hipusngo, in a pursuit operation on Tuesday, March 18, in Mondragon, Northern Samar.
The Baybay City government has offered a P50,000 reward for information leading to the suspect’s arrest. It condemned the appaling violence perpetrated against the victim.
