Laoag Airport security guard returns cash to American tourist

A handbag containing cash and valuable personal belongings was returned by an airport security guard at the Laoag International Airport (LIA) on Wednesday, March 19, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said.

In a statement, the CAAP said the handbag contained at least ₱146,348 in cash, a passport, identification cards, a driver’s license, and other valuables, was discovered by Rhea Taysa, a security guard at LIA.

Following a thorough verification process, the handbag was returned to a 79-year-old female American who expressed deep gratitude and commended Taysa.
