LOOK: Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo visits son Mikey after his surgery

Former president and incumbent Pampanga 2nd district Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo visited her son, former congressman Juan Miguel "Mikey" Arroyo, following the latter's thyroidectomy.

Former president and incumbent Pampanga 2nd district Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo visited her son, former congressman Juan Miguel "Mikey" Arroyo, following the latter’s thyroidectomy.

The younger Arroyo appears to be doing fine based on his Facebook post on Tuesday night, March 18, wherein he shared the photo with his dear mother.

"Recovery room after 5 hour thyroid removal surgery. Thank you Lord 🙏," he wrote.

"I’m posting this not only to thank my family and close friends for their prayers but also to ask others not to ask favours first for at least week to allow me to heal faster . Thank you for your understanding 🙏," added Mikey, who served as Rep. Arroyo's predecessor in the second district.

Rep. Arroyo was Philippine president from 2001 to 2010. She is also a former House Speaker.
