San Juan LGU breaks ground for 30-storey 4PH housing project

San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora, DHSUD Sec. Jerry Acuzar, SHFC President Federico Laxa, and officials of the city government lead the groundbreaking ceremony for the housing project. 

 

The San Juan City local government, together with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and the Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC), spearheaded the groundbreaking ceremony for the 30-storey, 1,029-unit residential building that is part of the national government's Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino program (4PH).

San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora, DHSUD Secretary Jerry Acuzar, SHFC President Federico Laxa, and officials of the city government led the event held on Tuesday, March 18.

Located in F. Manalo Street in Barangay Batis, the housing project is part of the President's 4PH program which aims to provide housing for Filipino families.

The housing project will occupy a 2,624 square meter property and will have a total of 549 residential units with an average size of 28 square meters per unit.

The building will also include 11 commercial units, 68 parking slots for cars, and 47 slots for motorcycles.

“San Juan City is focusing its efforts on providing decent housing to San Juaneño families through the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino program (4PH). We are making homeownership accessible to our residents, ensuring that our people will have an opportunity to own an affordable and decent housing which they can call home,” Zamora said.

“This is just the beginning. The 4PH program is a transformative solution to our country’s housing challenges, and San Juan City is proud to be at the forefront of this initiative. We will continue to work hard to provide affordable and decent for our people,” he added.

San Juan City is among the first locations where the initiative will be implemented, with more housing projects set to rise in the coming years.

Launched in September 2022, the 4PH program's primary goal is for the country to have zero informal settlers by 2028.

The Marcos administration aims to build one million housing units annually which is intended to address the backlog of 6.5 million housing units.
