The Makati City Police Station said on Monday, March 17, that it is investigating a road rage incident in Barangay La Paz, Makati City, where three towing crew members assaulted a delivery rider allegedly over a failed towing service on Friday, March 14.

Authorities identified the victim as Jayson, 31, a delivery driver from Caloocan City, while the suspects were identified as Victor, Baron, and Bryan.

Police said the suspects blocked the victim’s delivery van while it was moving along South Superhighway (northbound), then got out of their towing truck and physically assaulted Jayson while he was still inside his vehicle.

Earlier that day, the suspects and the victim reportedly had a heated argument at the Magallanes Exit after the suspects allegedly failed to tow Jayson’s van.

Police said the suspects were provoked by the victim’s gestures, which they found offensive, leading to the road rage incident.

On Monday morning, March 17, tow truck driver Jonel went to the Makati City Police Station’s Investigation and Detective Management Section (IDMS) to give his statement about the incident.

Authorities are preparing the documents for case filing and encouraged witnesses to come forward to assist in the investigation.

Meanwhile, police said they are working to ensure justice for the victim and urged the public to report similar incidents immediately.
