In celebration of World Tuberculosis Day, more than 800 Caloocan residents availed free X-ray and risk assessment services on Sunday, March 16 at the Caloocan Sports Complex.
The event was held in partnership with the Department of Health (DOH) and aimed to increase awareness of TB as an infectious disease and detect early signs of infection.
DOH Secretary Ted Herbosa also attended the event.

I am grateful to the DOH and all our citizens who joined in the celebration of World TB Day. Your presence is a great help in the efforts of the city government to ensure that we are all safe from the threat of TB),” Mayor Dale “Along” Malapitan said.
Malapitan also said that the city government has implemented prior anti-infectious disease efforts, as he notes consistent upgrades and improvements in the city’s healthcare system.
We are not only focusing on TB. Our programs now include regular vaccinations against infectious diseases and other free medical services, because our city government knows that these diseases can be prevented if our programs are correct and adequate),” he said.
“Ang gusto ko, pagdating sa kalusugan, panatag ang loob ng lahat ng Batang Kankaloo na mayroong libre, de-kalidad, at accessible na serbisyo medikal silang matatakbuhan sa oras ng pangangailangan (What I want, when it comes to health, is for all Batang Kankaloo to feel secure that they have free, quality, and accessible medical services they can turn to in times of need),” he added.
