The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) gave trash traps and flood control equipment to Parañaque City government as part of its flood mitigation project.

According to Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez, the trash traps will be distributed to the city’s 10 communities, namely: Barangays San Isidro, Moonwalk, San Dionisio, San Antonio, BF Homes, Vitalez, Merville, Don Bosco, Tambo, and Don Galo.

Aside from the installation of trash traps, each barangay will also receive plastic pontoon, life vests and other equipment to help prevent flooding.

“Malaking tulong ang mga kagamitan na ito sa ating lungsod dahil sa pamamagitan ng mga donasyong ito ay mas mapapaigting ang ating flood management efforts at mababawasan ang pagbaha sa ating lungsod (This donation is a big help to our city as it will help in the mitigation of flooding in the city)," Olivarez said.

The mayor thanked MMDA Chairman Don Artes for the donation as it will help in cleaning the city’s waterways to prevent flooding and achieve its goals in taking care of the environment.
