DFA chief joins India’s Raisina Dialogue on ‘pressing’ geopolitical issues

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced that DFA Secretary Enrique Manalo is participating in the 10th Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi, India, to join in the discussions of some of the world’s “most pressing” geopolitical and geoeconomic issues.

In a statement, the DFA said that Manalo will be in New Delhi from Monday, March 17, to Wednesday, March 19, to attend the dialogue hosted by the Observer Research Forum (ORF) of India and the Ministry of External Affairs of India.

This will be the first time the Secretary will attend the Raisina Dialogue.

“It is the country’s flagship international conference on the most pressing geopolitical and geoeconomic issues. It brings together prominent high-level officials, policymakers, and strategic thought leaders,” the statement read.

Aside from attending the dialogue, Manalo is also expected to hold bilateral talks with other foreign ministers on the sidelines of the meetings.

He will also have an interactive session with members of the business community, as well as visit the Philippine Embassy in New Delhi to observe its e-visa operations.

According to the Raisina Dialogue’s website, “Leaders in politics, business, media, and civil society converge in New Delhi to discuss the state of the world and explore opportunities for cooperation on a wide range of contemporary matters.”

Participants include heads of state, cabinet ministers, and local government officials, as well as thought leaders from the private sector, media, and academia.

Some of the topics to be discussed are politics, climate change, economy, and global security.
