Criminal gang leader nabbed in Quezon

TAGKAWAYAN, Quezon – Police apprehended a criminal gang leader in Barangay Munting Parang, this town, on Saturday afternoon, March 15.

The suspect was identified as Jiel.

Jiel was the leader of the Beraña Criminal Gang and the No. 1 most wanted person on regional level in the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon region or Region 4-A.

He was arrested on a warrant for murder issued by Judge Jeshiree Doletason Espinosa-Dionisio of the Calauag, Quezon Regional Trial Court Branch 63 dated Sept. 6, 2024. Dionisio recommended no bail for this case.

Jiel also faces arrest warrants for homicide with a recommended bail of P120,000 also issued by Dionisio dated May 13, 2024 and violations of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

The suspect is in the custody of the Tagkawayan police.
