Senior citizen nabbed for raping minor neighbor in Rodriguez, Rizal

A 61-year-old man was arrested by the Rodriguez Rizal Police Station for raping his then 16-year-old neighbor in Barangay San Jose, Rodriguez, Rizal, in June 2023.

The suspect was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued against him for statutory rape on Feb. 20 this year.

Based on the police report, the victim was said to be standing in front of her house when the suspect suddenly grabbed her and brought her inside his house where he proceeded to rape her.

The victim said the suspect threatened her that he will kill her mom and grandmother if she tells them about the crime.

Despite the threat, the victim told her grandmother what has happened, prompting them to report the suspect to the police. She added he had raped her multiple times before.

The suspect denied the allegations against him.

“Hinalay ko raw siya sa loob ng bahay namin… wala pong katotohanan ‘yun, kasi unang-una po, yung looban ng bahay namin maraming tao (She said I raped her inside our house, but that is not true. First of all, there were a lot of people inside our house)," the suspect said, adding that he and the victim only met a couple of times whenever she is asking for P20 for her school allowance.

He is currently under the custody of the Rodriguez Police Station.
