3 minor human trafficking victims rescued in Nueva Ecija


CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija – Authorities rescued three minor human trafficking victims in Cabiao, Nueva Ecija on Thursday, March 13.

Police Col. Ferdinand Germino, Nueva Ecija police chief, said that a 12-year-old girl reported to the Gapan City police that she was a victim of human trafficking. 

Lawmen launched an operation and rescued three other minor victims aged 12, 13, and 17 in an apartment in Barangay Palasinan, Cabiao.

Five suspected human traffickers, including two minors, were apprehended. A sixth managed to evade arrest and remains at large.

Police said that the victims were being exploited and offered to customers online with the suspects facilitating transactions.

The adult suspects are in the custody of the Gapan City Police Station. The minor suspects are in the custody of social workers for appropriate intervention. The suspects face human trafficking charges.
