The expired frozen meat since 2020 and 2021 was reportedly being reprocessed, relabeled, repacked, and will be sold to grocery stores.

Based on the report, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Central Luzon Regional Office, armed with a search warrant, entered the warehouse and discovered boxes of imported rotten and moldy meat products.

According to NBI agent  Atty. Aires Manaloto, some of the rotten frozen meat already have worms. The meat's importer reportedly ordered the reprocessing and grinding of the expired meat to be used for siomai and hotdog products.

The workers at the cold storage were caught relabeling the products and have removed the expiration date stickers.

The discovery of the rotten imported meat was reported to authorities by an informant.

NBI Central Luzon Regional Director Jun Carpeso said the meat is dangerous to health if eaten because they are no longer fit for human consumption.

The company's legal representative Atty. Oliver Santos denied the allegations.

“We will confer that with our client because we will answer all allegations in the proper forum,” Santosa said.

NBI Director Jaime Santiago ordered the immediate removal of the confiscated meat.
