The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Friday, March 14 said that hot weather will continue over the weekend due to the prevailing easterlies, or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean.
PAGASA weather specialist Grace Castañeda explained that the warm conditions will last through Sunday, March 16, but by Monday, March 17, a new surge of the northeast monsoon, or “amihan,” will again affect parts of Northern Luzon.
However, PAGASA warned that isolated rain showers or thunderstorms may occur in the afternoon or evening, with severe thunderstorms potentially leading to flash floods or landslides, particularly in vulnerable areas.
Castañeda added that no low-pressure areas or tropical cyclones are being monitored within or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility as of Friday.
The country will continue to experience generally fair weather, with temperatures higher than usual in many areas due to the influence of the easterlies.
