President Marcos vowed that the government would continue supporting the success of the peace process as he cited the significance of progress in the nation's peace efforts.

Marcos said this as he led the oath-taking of new members of the Local Amnesty Boards of Eastern Visayas in Tacloban City on Friday, March 14.
In his speech, the President said the gains of the peace process depend on the work the boards will do.
"Know very well that we, in the national government, are very supportive and will continue to be supportive of all you are doing," he said.
Stressing the significance of progress in the peace efforts, the President said the unity of formerly conflicting parties and establishing an Amnesty Board were key to reintegrating former rebels into society.
He likewise acknowledged the importance of unity despite political differences, citing the long-awaited efforts of those involved in the process of maintaining peace.
"It is a coming together of parties that we have been in conflict for quite a long time," Marcos said, noting that the union of the government and former rebels was good for the country.
"Now that we have the Amnesty Board here, there is a mechanism in place for us to bring back into the fold of the law and into society those who opposed the state for a while, for a good long while," he added.
Marcos described the formation of the amnesty board as a crucial step in achieving tangible progress.
"I'm very happy that we are able to finally do it again and begin that very arduous process of them assimilating back into society, those who have chosen for a while to live outside our society," he added.
