2 men shoot each other dead in Talisay City

BACOLOD CITY – Two men involved in cockfighting shot each other dead in Sitio Mambucano, Barangay Cabatangan, Talisay City, Negros Occidental on Friday, March 14.

Investigation said a 32-year-old man was on his way home after his house was pelted with stones at past midnight when he met a 37-year-old cock farm manager.

A heated altercation erupted and both of them drew guns and shot each other.

The younger man was wounded in the head and the older man was shot in the chest. They were taken to a hospital where they were declared dead.

Recovered from the crime scene were a 9mm Beretta pistol, two fired cartridge cases and an empty magazine, an STI caliber .45 pistol, a fired cartridge case, a deformed slug, and an empty .45 caliber magazine.

Police are conducting follow-up investigation and looking into grudges as motive in the incident.
