PDEA seizes P340M ‘shabu’ in Muntinlupa drug operation

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized P340 million worth of suspected “shabu” from two drug suspects during a buy-bust operation in Muntinlupa City on Friday, March 14.

The PDEA said that the suspects with aliases “Tita Joy” and “Liezel” were collared in South Green Heights Village, Barangay Putatan.

During the operation, the anti-narcotics agents found illegal drugs concealed “in multiple packages, including one carton box containing 25 golden aluminum packs, one luggage containing 20 vacuum-sealed orange packs with the label ‘Cote d’Ivoire,’ one red eco bag containing five vacuum-sealed orange packs with the label ‘Cote d’Ivoire.’”

Upon further search, the agents discovered that the total weight of the suspected shabu seized was approximately 50 kilograms.

The suspects face charges for violation of Sections 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act (RA) 9165 otherwise known as “The , Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”

The operation was led by the PDEA Intelligence Service with the PDEA NCR Southern District Office and Philippine National Police – Station Drug Enforcement Unit Muntinlupa.

“The anti-drug operation was conducted in full compliance with the law, and the safety of all personnel involved was ensured. The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) remain committed to intensifying their efforts to combat illegal drug activities across the country, ensuring the safety and well-being of all citizens,’’ the PDEA assured.
