Late actress Kim Sae-ron's family releases letter, photo to say Kim Soo-hyun dated her when she was a minor

The family of the late Korean actress Kim Sae-ron released an additional kiss photo, a letter and a postcard to bolster the claim that “Queen of Tears” star Kim Soo-hyun had a relationship with her when she was a minor.

On March 12, YouTube channel HoverLab (Garosero Research Institute) continued presenting claims from Kim Sae-ron’s family, insisting that Kim Soo-hyun and the actress started dating when she was just 15. He was 27 at the time.

Kim Sae-ron was found dead last Feb. 16, coincidentally on Kim Soo-hyun’s birthday. Her career came to halt when she was involved in a drunk driving incident in May 2022.

Gold Medalist, Kim Sae-ron’s former agency, which manages Kim Soo-hyun, earlier denied the allegations.

The YouTube channel presented a letter and a postcard that were purportedly sent by Kim Soo-hyun to Kim Sae-ron.

The letter, dated Aug. 6, 2018, bore the name “Private Kim” as the sender and the recipient as “Saeronero.”

Kim Soo-hyun enlisted in the military in October 2017 and was discharged in July 2019.

"I just wanted to tell you what I'm seeing and feeling. The most I can say is that I want to see you. Please continue to do your best in the future," the sender wrote in the letter.

Kim Sae-ron's aunt told the YouTube channel that the relationship was serious enough that they talked about marriage.

"They even talked about marriage. This was after (Kim Sae-ron) became an adult. She was in her early 20s," the aunt claimed.

The YouTube channel also released another photo of Kim Soo-hyun kissing Kim Sae-ron on the cheek. They also released photos of Kim Soo-hyun while he was in the military.

Previously, the family provided the YouTube channel with a statement written by Kim Sae-ron when she uploaded a photo with Kim Soo-hyun in March last year.

In the statement, Kim Sae-ron wrote, “The photo posted in the story is from 2016, and the relationship lasted from November 19, 2015 to July 7, 2021. I am 16 years old and my partner is 30 years old. That was it. That's how the six-year relationship ended,” she wrote. Kim Soo-hyun was 27 at the time.

Kim Sae-ron's mother stated, "Reiterating the story of a child who is no longer by my side is to restore the child's reputation that was ruined in an instant by false articles. I just want to be remembered and honored as an actor when I was alive. Please help me restore her former reputation as an actor without becoming someone's gossip."

In response, Gold Medalist issued a new statement to say that they will answer the issues next year.

“We would like to address the recent content related to Mr. Kim Soo-hyun that aired on the Garosero Research Institute. Gold Medalist will clarify the facts and address unfounded rumors by presenting clear evidence next week. We apologize for any prolonged discomfort caused,” the agency said, Chosun Biz reported.
