In the game that marked the first showdown between former UAAP stars Kevin Quiambao and JD Cagulangan, the Sonicboom proved to be steadier down the stretch with Rayshaun Hammonds tallying a huge effort of 17 points, 14 rebounds and three assists.

JD Cagulangan had a quiet three points, two rebounds, and one steal as the Sonicboom hiked their card to 26-17 at fourth.

Quiambao, for his part, came out with an all-around performance of 12 points, nine rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in 33 minutes of action while Lee Jae-Do shone the brightest with 27 points on top of five rebounds, five assists, and one steal.

The Skygunners absorbed their fourth consecutive loss for a 14-30 slate.

Meanwhile, Kofi Cockburn and Fil-American Justin Gutang formed a lethal 1-2 punch and lifted the Seoul Samsung Thunders over the Busan KCC Egis, 83-77, to return in the win column.

Cockburn stole the spotlight as he fired 34 points and grabbed 13 rebounds while Gutang posted 14 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and one steal.

Seoul secured its 14th victory against 30 defeats, tying Goyang in the standings.

Busan suffered its 11th straight loss to settle for a 15-28 card.
