Duterte supporters rally in Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Hundreds of supporters of former President Rodrigo Duterte converged at the Cesar Climaco Freedom Park here on Wednesday to hold a candlelight rally for the former Chief Executive following his arrest by the International Criminal Court for alleged crimes against humanity.

SUPPORTERS of former President Rodrigo Duterte hold a candlelight rally in Zamboanga City.

Rallyists came from various places in this city bearing placards asking for justice for the former President and posted videos on social media.

They also took turns giving out messages of support and recounted the reasons why they support Duterte.

Two of the rallyists cited a better law and order condition during Duterte’s term as President.

Rally organizers initially wanted to hold the activity at the RT Lim Boulevard but the city government instead granted a permit for them at the Cesar Climaco Freedom Park, an area designated in the past as the site for rallies and similar activities.

They also held a rally on Tuesday night at a commercial center here.

Several rallies were also held in several areas in Zamboanga Peninsula such as Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Pagadian City on Wednesday.
