The Daegu KOGAS Pegasus rediscovered their fiery form and outclassed the Anyang JKJ Red Boosters, 88-76, to end their three-game slide in the Korean Basketball League (KBL) Wednesday, March 12.

Andrew Nicholson and SJ Belangel led the scoring anew as the Pegasus turned on the jets as early as the opening quarter, keeping the Red Boosters at bay to capture their first victory after almost two weeks of futility.
Nicholson put up a 31-point performance with six rebounds, one steal and one block while Belangel had an ample support of 18 points on top of two rebounds and three assists for Daegu.
It was sort of a redemption game for Belangel, a former Ateneo and Gilas Pilipinas standout, as he only listed a quiet four points in their 89-69 loss to the league-leading Seoul SK Knights.
Youssopha Ndoye backed them up with 13 points and seven rebounds, helping the Pegasus raise their tally to 23-21 at fifth.
Deonte Burton’s 31-point, 12-rebound and five-assist output couldn’t bail the Red Boosters out as they absorbed their 27th defeat with 17 wins at seventh.
Later Thursday, March 13, former UAAP stars Kevin Quiambao and JD Cagulangan clash as the Goyang Sono Skygunners collide against the Suwon KT Sonicboom.
Aside from Quiambao and Cagulangan’s second face-off on Korean soil, the Skygunners aim to snap their three-game slide while the Sonicboom go for their fifth straight win.
The first time the two collegiate champions battled each other was on Jan. 31, with Suwon taking over Goyang via a 78-73 decision despite Quiambao’s impressive game.
