The production team behind the upcoming series "Knock-Off," starring Kim Soo-hyun, has confirmed that filming is proceeding as scheduled. The announcement comes amid allegations that Kim was in a relationship with the late actor Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor. His agency, Gold Medalist, has denied the claims, calling them “blatantly false.”

A representative from the Disney+ series "Knock-Off" told the Hankook Ilbo on Wednesday that “filming is progressing as planned,” adding, “There is no confirmed release date or production presentation schedule at this time.”

"Knock-Off" follows a man whose life is turned upside down by the Asian financial crisis, known as the IMF crisis in Korea. Starting as an ordinary office worker, he rises to become a global kingpin in the counterfeit goods market.

The series is directed by Park Hyun-suk of "Stranger 2" and written by Han Jung-hoon, known for the "Bad Guys" series. Kim Soo-hyun takes on the role of Kim Sung-joon, the mastermind behind the counterfeit empire.

The controversy surrounding Kim began when the YouTube channel Hoverlab (better known as Garo Sero Institute) aired allegations that he began dating Kim Sae-ron when he was 27, and she was 15.

The late actor's family claimed in an interview with the channel that the two were in a relationship for six years.

Gold Medalist firmly refuted the allegations, stating, “The claim that Kim Soo-hyun was in a relationship with Kim Sae-ron when she was 15 is false.”

The agency also warned of legal action, saying, “We are reviewing the strongest possible legal measures against the spread of false information.” (The Korea Times)
