Two brothers were killed and 12 individuals were injured when the jeepney they were riding plunged into a ravine in Barangay Bulbulala, Licuan-Baay, Abra on Tuesday afternoon, March 11.

Police Capt. Christopher B. Abbacan, Licuan-Baay chief of police, identified the victims as miners Jun and Mac.
Investigation disclosed that the jeepney with 18 individuals, including the driver, lost its brakes while descending a zigzag road, plunged into a ravine, and ended up on its side.
Fourteen persons, including the driver, were hurt. Four others were unhurt.
The fatalities were on their way to Licuan–Baay to work. The injured are recovering in the hospital.
Abbacan advised drivers to properly check their vehicles before traveling for their safety.
