VP Sara Duterte back home from Hong Kong

Vice President Sara Z. Duterte arrived in the country on Tuesday, March 11, from Hong Kong, hours after his father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, was arrested by the authorities.

The Vice President arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) at 3:21 p.m. via Philippine Airlines flight no. PR 319, following a personal trip to Hong Kong last weekend.

She was accompanied by her children and did not grant a media interview.

Her office said she will "address any relevant matters at the appropriate time."

"We kindly ask for your understanding as she attends to these matters," her office said.

A source said the Vice President did not pass through the regular passengers lane. From the aircraft, she and her company went directly to the NAIA ramp before exiting at the NAIA Terminal 1 Complex.

The Duterte patriarch was arrested earlier in the day after the International Criminal Court issued a warrant of arrest against him for alleged crimes against humanity. He is being investigated by the ICC for alleged human rights violations committed under his administration due to the so-called war on drugs.
