PDEA seizes P3.57M 'shabu', gun from drug suspect in Pangasinan

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested a drug suspect and confiscated P3.57 million worth of suspected "shabu" and a caliber .45 pistol during a buy-bust operation in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan before dawn Tuesday, March 11.
PDEA Region 1 Director Joel Plaza said the suspect, alias "Odi", was arrested at around 2:35 a.m. after an intense surveillance operation.
Around 525 grams of suspected shabu concealed in six knot-tied transparent plastic were recovered by the authorities from the suspect, as well as the gun.
The PDEA also confiscated from the suspect a magazine assembly, holster, seven live ammunition, four mobile phones, several drug paraphernalia, five bundles of unused plastic sachets, a brown sling bag, a paper bag, a brown envelope, a blue plastic, an identification card, P2,000 cash in various denominations, and the buy-bust money.
The operation was carried out by the PDEA-Pangasinan Provincial Office (PDEA PANG PO) and Philippine National Police's Drug Enforcement Group-Special Operations Unit 1 (PDEG-SOU 1).
Odi faces charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia) under Article II of Republic Act (RA) 9165, otherwise known as “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002”, and RA 10591 or An Act in Providing for a Comprehensive Law on Firearm and Ammunition and Providing Penalties for Violation Thereof.
Plaza said that the suspect is currently detained at the PDEA Pangasinan Provincial Office jail facility in Urdaneta City.
