Duterte to law enforcers: Sara will win presidency because of this arrest
His arrest will make his daughter, current Vice President Sara Duterte, a president in 2028 if she decides to run, former president Rodrigo Duterte said on Tuesday, March 11.

In an Instagram Live by Veronica Duterte, the former chief executive’s youngest daughter with common-law wife Honeylet Avanceña, he was heard questioning his arrest over a warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
“Bakit mo ako dadalhin dun sa isang international body na hindi tayo miyembro (Why are you going to bring me to an international body that we are not a member)?,” he asked.
He warned of “implication,” particularly an eventual win by the Vice President if she decides to join the 2028 presidential race.
“My family, lalo na si Vice President, pag bukas mag-presidente yan…or on a longer term kung tatakbo ‘yan, mananalo ‘yan dahil sa ginawa nyo tuloy (My family, especially the vice president, she might become president by tomorrow… or on a longer term, if she runs, she will win because of what you did),” Duterte claimed.
Two choices
In the video, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Chief Maj. Gen. Nicolas Torre III was also seen talking with former executive secretary Salvador Medialdea and an unidentified woman.
The police official was seemingly convincing the two to allow them to fetch Duterte, who will reportedly be onboarded a chartered flight.
“Ganito na lang (Let’s do it like this), Sir. It’s either we do the hard way or the easy way. The easy way is for you to choose three people who will accompany (PRRD) on the chartered flight,” he said.
But the unidentified woman demanded to know where the authorities are taking the former president, to which Torre responded, “Wala sa pay grade ko (It’s above my pay grade).”
Vice President Sara Duterte said in a separate statement that their father is being forcibly taken to The Hague, The Netherlands, where the ICC is headquartered.
No medical treatment
In an Instagram Story, Kitty alleged that her father is not being allowed to seek proper medical treatment while under custody by authorities.
She posted a medical certificate from her father’s doctor, who detailed the former president’s medical condition.
“We are being illegally detained at 250th Presidential Airlift Wing Col Hesus Villamor Airbase Pasay City. They aren't allowing my dad to seek the medical attention he badly needs,” her caption read.
She also posted a photo of Duterte lying down on a makeshift bed.
“They are denying my dad the proper healthcare he needs. They are keeping him confined here and not allowing us to bring him to the hospital. He is getting weaker by the minute,” she said.
Signal jammer
Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte also alleged that there is a signal jammer at the Villamor Airbase as his sister’s Instagram Live feed was “cut off.”
“I guess they are using a signal jammer to control the reaction of people and diffuse the situation while they secretly force PRRD on board a plane,” he wrote on Facebook.
