Calbayog awards cash incentives to EVRAA athletes

TACLOBAN CITY – The city government of Calbayog will award cash incentives to athletes in the recent 2025 Eastern Visayas Regional Athletics Association (EVRAA) Meet.

Calbayog Supersonics athletes who won gold will receive P5,000, P3,000 for silver, and P2,000 for bronze.

Non-winning athletes will receive P1,000 each to inspire them to perform better in the next competition.

Mayor Raymund Uy expressed support for athletes in future sports competitions.

“We will try to improve and continue to support all sports activities sought by various clubs in Calbayog,” Uy said.

From ninth in the last edition, the Calbayog City Division jumped to sixth place this year with 16 gold, 23 silver, and 35 bronze.

The Department of Education-8 awarded Calbayog as the Most Improved Division.

Ormoc City topped this year's EVRAA.

The city government allocated P15 million as reward to winning athletes.

Ormoc City Siglaro Elites was the overall champion for the fifth time with 239 gold, 146, and 81 bronze.
