Bless the children and the Child Protection Network
CPN Philippines hosts annual fundraising dinner

The Child Protection Network (CPN) Philippines had their annual fundraising dinner, and for a change, had three chefs on board - Miko Callo, Josh Boutwood, and Shangri-la’s Executive Chef Joris Rycken. It was a five-course dinner held at Chef Rycken’s ‘home turf’ of Shangri-la BGC, and it proved to be a gastronomic feast that delighted the guests as it subtly incorporated Filipino ingredients and flavors.

The CPN is an NGO with expertise on the prevention and treatment of child abuse. By training competent multi-disciplinary teams, Women and Child Protection Units (WCPU), are established throughout the country, serving as ‘safe havens’ for abused children. These units can be found in DOH-retained and LGU-assisted/supported hospitals, offering medical intervention as needed, and services that facilitate recovery from trauma and stigmatization. There are currently 115 WCPU’s in 59 provinces and 10 independent cities.

As in previous iterations of the dinner, CPN Chairman David Bradley and his wife, Katherine flew in for the occasion; and it was stirring to hear Mr. Bradley speak of the deep love he has for our country, and the commitment he shares with the CPN Board, to stay true to their vision of “All children in the Philippines and throughout Asia are protected from abuse and neglect.”
