Fresh from a 79-72 triumph over SJ Belangel and the Daegu KOGAS Pegasus, Tamayo and the Sakers fended off the late charge of the Skygunners to preserve the victory in the anticipated matchup of Gilas' most promising players.

Assem Marei registered monstrous numbers for Changwon, finishing with 29 points and 23 rebounds with six assists and four steals while Tamayo cashed in 12 points – his fourth consecutive twin-digit scoring –  on top two rebounds, four assists. 

Yang Jun-Seok added 13 points and nine assists as the Sakers improved their record to 27-16 at second place.

Quiambao, for his part, unleashed 15 points, five rebounds, six assists and three steals while D.J. Burns and Lee Jae-Do posted 25 and 11 points, respectively, as the Skygunners slip to their 29th loss against 14 wins at ninth.

Meanwhile, the KBL-best Seoul SK Knights asserted their might and cruised past the Daegu Pegasus, 89-69, to make it five in a row.

Four players from the Knights listed double digits to hike their card to 36-8.

Belangel had a quiet performance of four points, two rebounds, six assists and one steal while Andrew Nicholson tried to steer them with 17 points, but it wasn’t enough as the Pegasus sustained their third straight loss for a 22-21 slate at fifth.

Last Saturday, Fil-American Ethan Alvano and the Wonju DB Promy lost their rhythm in late game, yielding to the Seoul Samsung Thunders, 83-75, in overtime.

Alvano only listed five points with two rebounds, eight assists, and one steal as Wonju slipped to sixth with a 19-24 win-loss mark.
